Concrete Formsetter-Finisher (hourly rate between $26-$35)

Job Title: Concrete Form-Setter / Finisher

We are seeking skilled and experienced Concrete Form-Setters / Finishers to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for creating and setting up concrete forms, pouring and finishing concrete surfaces, and assisting with various concrete construction projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of concrete materials, tools, equipment, and methods.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare construction sites by setting up wooden or metal forms to ensure accurate concrete shapes and dimensions.

2. Construct concrete formwork systems by using hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and hammers.

3. Place and secure reinforcing steel bars (rebar) into formwork to strengthen concrete structures.

4. Mix, pour, and level concrete into prepared forms, ensuring it is properly placed and compacted.

5. Smooth, finish, and texture concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.

6. Install embedded fixtures, such as anchor bolts and electrical conduit, as specified in construction plans.

7. Apply coatings to concrete surfaces, such as sealants and waterproofing materials, to enhance durability.

8. Assist in cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas, as required.

9. Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

10. Collaborate effectively with team members, including other construction workers and supervisors, to ensure project deadlines are met.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Concrete form setter-Finisher or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of concrete materials, tools, equipment, and techniques.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and trowels.
• Experience with concrete finishing techniques, such as floating, troweling, and brooming.
• Familiarity with concrete additives and their impact on concrete properties.
• Excellent physical condition and strength to lift heavy materials and equipment.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
• Demonstrated understanding of safety procedures and practices in a construction setting.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints preferred.
