Drew University is seeking a Concert Hall Manager in the Auxiliary Services Department. This position will manage the Concert Hall on behalf of the University, serving a broad array of constituent users. This role will act as the point person in administrative and operational elements of Concert Hall events and lead new business development for the Concert Hall. This is an on-site, full-time, 12-month position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning of each event in the hall, in conjunction with the Events Coordinator, including scheduling, pricing, logistical coordination, asset allocation, staffing, service provisions, instrument deliveries, tunings, billing and financial management.
  • Manage the execution of each event: set up, audio, video, streaming, lighting, staffing, event flow, etc.
  • Oversight of the Concert Hall's technical and special purpose assets and services: audio systems (both recording and live sound), video systems and lighting systems. Manage the general physical plant in close coordination with Drew Facilities. Plan routine maintenance and replacement.
  • Oversee Concert Hall rental contracts, ensuring that contracts are executed, appropriate insurance coverage is received and timely payments are made.
  • Maintain the Concert Hall calendar (noting priorities in booking). Responsible for the internal Hall calendar and the space on the university wide scheduling system (Mazevo).
  • Develop and maintain relationships in the performing arts with a focus on increasing rental and recording business. Employee will be responsible for generating a minimum revenue, to be reevaluated annually.
  • Work with supervisor to develop annual budgets, revenue projections and policies, as needed.

Required Qualifications, Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years min. related experience (in a performing arts facility)
  • Strong communication skills, must be able to multi-task, project/process management
  • Technical skills (A/V in a performing arts facility)
  • Supervisory experience
  • Prior new business development experience in the performing arts preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
