Summary:

As a Computer User Support Specialist - Journeyman, you will play a vital role in providing expert technical assistance and support to end-users within the organization. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and resolving complex IT issues, providing guidance, and maintaining a high level of user satisfaction. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that employees can effectively utilize technology to meet their daily tasks and responsibilities.

 

This position shall manage, operate, and maintain information technology (IT) for DAF RCO-FSU facilities at Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM. The contractor shall also provide support for the DAF RCO-FSU Office located in Washington D.C. Normally, this support shall be provided remotely; however, occasionally travel to the Washington D.C. Office may be required. The contractor shall provide services that operate IAW standard Air Force and DoD IT environments. The contractor shall also maintain a specified level of system uptime and performance as defined in the PRS. The contractor shall implement critical thinking to balance cost and performance.

 


Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing complex issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Offer guidance and training to users on software applications, hardware usage, and best practices to enhance productivity.
  • Create user-friendly documentation and guides for common IT tasks.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating hardware and software systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and secure.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware components.
  • Manage and document IT incidents, problems, and service requests.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to identify and implement solutions and preventive measures.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum three (3) years of experience in a similar IT support role.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues in Windows, Mac, and mobile platforms.
  • An ACTIVE Top-Secret security clearance is required and will be verified by our FSO.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) are a plus.
