Caseload/Details:
Middle school-Teaches computer literacy/technology related content, to pupils in a classroom utilizing concepts and pedagogy
Special Requirements: PEL
Summary:
Calumet City School District 155 is seeking a full-time Computer Teacher to teach computer literacy and technology related content to middle school students. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of computer science and pedagogy, and be able to create and deliver engaging and informative lessons.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans and activities that teach students about computer hardware, software, and programming.
- Provide individualized support to students with different learning needs.
- Maintain the computer lab and ensure that all equipment is in working order.
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate technology into the curriculum.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in computer science and education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- PEL (Professional Educator License) from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Experience teaching computer science at the middle school level preferred
- Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, and programming
- Ability to create and deliver engaging and informative lessons
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, compassion, and a positive attitude
