Position Description

We are pipelining candidates for a future role. ***Contingent upon Contract Award*** 

 

Valiant is seeking Computer Systems Technologist I for W-TRS. Potential locations could include: California, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, Korea, and potential additional CONUS locations.

 

Essential job duties include but are not limited to:

• Computer Systems Technologist under the supervision of the Instrumentation System (IS) Manager and is directly responsible for the execution of all AVoIP support for the CTC mission at the JRTC and Fort Polk under the W-TRS program.
• Responsibilities: Familiar with audio and video systems to maintain conference and briefing room sound and visual systems.
• Install and maintain Video over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services and devices for business use which do not interfere with current bandwidth or ability to conduct business.
• Research and develop a working knowledge of current and future recourses necessary for the enhancement/ improvement of current systems, networks, and procedure.
• Enforce the IS security guidance policies as provided by the ISSO.
• Enforce system access, operation, maintenance, and disposition requirements.
• Ensure that personnel meet required security investigation, clearance, authorization, mission requirement, and supervisory approval before granting access to the IS.
• Report security violations and incidents in accordance with Section VIII, Incident, and Intrusion Reporting.
• Conduct required scanning and vulnerability assessments with approved software.
• SAs/NAs are not limited to only scanning but should be conducting comprehensive network assessments of their networks as authorized.
• Ensure CM includes all pertinent patches and fixes by routinely reviewing vendor sites, bulletins, and notifications and proactively updating systems with fixes, patches, definitions, and service packs.
• Ensure any system changes resulting from updating or patching are reported to the SOC & ISSO.
• Record IAVM compliance in the Asset and Vulnerability Tracking Resource (A&VTR) database.
• Maintain current anti-virus (AV) engines and definitions on all ISs.

Position Requirements

Mental/Physical requirements for this role include Ability to:

• Lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as appropriate. Ability to perform duties in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind and rain) and at height.
• Willing to work a flexible workweek.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid state driver’s license and maintain post driving privileges.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
• This position may require travel to other installations and other WTRS locations throughout CONUS and OCONUS.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

• Must be able to gain access to military installation.
• US citizenship is required; Possess a Security Clearance or ability to obtain a clearance.
• Maintain industry certification in accordance with DOD 8570.01-M and DODD 8140.01 for IAT Level II associate degree in computer technology or equivalent work experience in Lieu of a degree.
• Minimum experience of three years performing System Administration; DoD experience preferred
• CompTia Security certification (required upon hire)
• Computing Environment certification within 6 months of hire
• System administration: 3 years (Required)
• Working with servers and various databases: 2 years (Required)

 

Desired Skills:

 

• Previous Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) experience highly desired.
