Computer Scientist (Intermediate)

Vali Inc. has an opportunity for an intermediate Computer Scientist with a Data Analyst focus working on a Cost Estimating team supporting a Missile Defense Acquisition Program. Candidate will use analytical, statistical and programing skills to collect, manage, integrate, and present budget and cost information using cutting edge business intelligence and data visualization tools. You will analyze large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will create efficiencies in the financial management and acquisition of missile defense systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collect, organize, and integrate data sets into databases from various financial and program management sources including: Obligation Status Reports, Budget Execution data in Accounting Logs, Earned Value Management data, Cost Data Reports, Program Schedules, Technical Requirements and Programmatic data.
• Exhibit the analytical creativity required to tie data sources together by developing a structure to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Document design processes and decisions.
• Develop dashboards using data visualization software that share management information both vertically and horizontally across the Program Office Leadership.
• Develop and present power point briefings to facilitate management decisions.
• Contribute to cost estimates for large missile defense weapon systems.

Information Technology Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in Excel, Access and Power BI. Working knowledge of MS Word and Power Point.
• Demonstrated experience in database/query languages like SQL.
• Demonstrated experience in programing languages like Python, C++, C#, HTML, CSS, Java and JavaScript.
• Demonstrated experience in Objective Oriented Programming (OOP principles) including Abstraction, Encapsulation, Inheritance and Polymorphism.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics and 3 Years' Experience.
• MS or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Business Analytics and 2 Years' Experience.
• Must be able to work under the guidance of an experienced cost estimator.
• Must be able to support multiple projects, work well within a team, interact with multiple levels of management, and manage customer and contractor relationships.
• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be a detail oriented self-starter.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
