A Computer Engineer is a software development/support role focusing on semi-conductor/EDA design flows/tools. At Micron Technology, Inc., you will be working in a fast-paced, collaborative, production support role evaluating, developing, enhancing, and debugging both in-house and commercial EDA tools and flows for the design, physical layout, and CMOS validation of integrated circuits.
There is also a new emphasis on developing CAD tools and solutions for IC Design that leverage Machine Learning methods and algorithms within the highly specialized domain of custom IC design and implementation. Responsibilities and Tasks include, but not limited to: Developing and assisting in the definition of innovative tools, flows, and methodologies with an emphasis on ML algorithms to increase the efficiency and reliability of Micron custom memory designs Applying an AI/ML perspective to the design, implementation, and verification of memory circuits Evaluating the latest AI/ML technologies and their application in CAD flows used in IC design, implementation, and verification Providing training, documentation, and support to end-users on CAD tools and methods Develop and apply CAD software engineering methods, theories, and research techniques in support of the organization's product development. Assignments include crafting and developing CAD software, assessing architecture and hardware limitations, and defining and implementing Engineering applications improving AI/ML technologies Successful candidates will have the following: Coursework or experience in EE, CE or CS including VLSI circuit design and software Exposure to IC design CAD tools (schematics, layouts, simulation, and verification tools) Exposure to CMOS implementation including area, speed, and power tradeoffs Excellent programming fundamentals required Strong understanding of current ML/AI technology, such as python Scikit-learn Coursework or projects applying machine learning techniques to coordinated circuit design In-depth experience in the SKILL and Python programming languages are preferred, but recent and proven experience in C, C++, JAVA, Visual Basic, Perl, or Lisp will be considered Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication is required Experience with Unix and shell scripting is preferred Education: Bachelors or preferably Masters/Ph.D.
