Job Description
Join our team as a Computer Aided Dispatch Engineer directly supporting the Amtrak Police Department (APD) at their National Communication Center (NCC) in Wilmington, DE. As a technical systems analyst, you'll be the critical link between our customers and our first responders, resolving technical issues and ensuring seamless operations.
Your role involves close collaboration with APD, diving into their operations, documenting existing systems, and actively contributing to the design and development of vital APD Projects tailored for the NCC. This includes pivotal upgrades like CAD, Phone and Radio systems, Text-a-Tip, and License Plate Readers. Additionally, you'll master service-now/ITIL platforms, steering incidents through a streamlined management process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems OR minimum 5 years' relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Database.
- Experience in implementing and integrating vendor applications (COTS).
- Preferred background in public safety software.
This hands-on role necessitates onsite presence in Wilmington for three days a week during standard hours. While prior CAD experience is advantageous, a solid grasp of police technology and operations is equally valuable. Familiarity with CAD Hexagon is a plus, though not mandatory. This position, offering year-over-year contract stability, involves diverse responsibilities-from application support to networking and desktop expertise.
We're gearing up for substantial projects, including phone and radio system replacements, demanding a thorough understanding of both applications and operational nuances.
