Department Description:
This 12-week summer internship position is in the Translational Disease Modeling group in the Digital Data Science department at Sanofi, a global health care and pharmaceutical company. The group focuses on Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) approaches that support critical decision making throughout the various phases of drug development by modeling disease biology and therapeutic response. These type of mechanistic models can be applied to improve our understanding of disease biology, the natural history of disease progression, drug kinetics and dynamics and the impact of drug therapy on clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities:
The graduate intern, working with Sanofi systems pharmacology modeling scientists, will develop systems pharmacology modeling platforms in rare and neurological disorders. The individual will be involved in modeling, scientific computing and data science activities, enabling the development and implementation of models and model-based tools.
Required qualifications:
-Must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program with plans to return to school after the assignment.
-Working towards a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in a variety of programming languages, and strong programming principles (e.g., MATLAB, R,).
-Experience with differential equations, and optimization algorithms
- Data science and computational experience.
Preferred qualifications:
-Able to work independently and in collaboration with others.
-Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and analytical skills.
-Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
-Desire to work within a team environment.
