Compounding Pharmacy Technician

IMS Pharmacy is an independent long-term care pharmacy in Ocala, FL, offering competitive pay and benefits. We are searching for an honest, self-motivated, individual with a positive and compassionate attitude for a full-time Pharmacy Technician position.

Pharmacy Technician Job Responsibilities:

· Floats between compounding and long-term care departments participating in simple compounding mixes and IV preparations part of the day, and supporting long-term care pharmacy operations the other part of the day.

· Undertake tasks under the direction of a pharmacist.

· Selecting the appropriate medicine and measuring dosages to fill prescriptions.

· Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory.

· Maintains and monitors sterile compounding area in accordance USP 797 standards.

· Maintains quality assurance records relating to USP 797 standards.

· Maintains site records and documentation.

Pharmacy Technician Qualifications / Skills:

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Basic math skills for counting medications.

· Effective time management skills.

· Basic computer skills.

· Able to maintain confidentiality.

· Reliable with a keen eye for detail.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

· Pharmacy Technicians will need to be at least 18 years old and have some prior related experience.

· Current Florida license as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.

· Current PTCB Accreditation or similar Sterile Certification is a plus.

· Compounded sterile products preparation experience is a plus.
