AmeriMed Infusion Pharmcy in Indianapolis, Indiana Now Hiring Fulltime Compounding Pharmacy Technician Trainee

Responsibilities

AmeriMed Infusion Pharmcy in Indianapolis, Indiana Now Hiring Fulltime Compounding Pharmacy Technician Trainee

 

The Compounding Pharmacy Technician Trainee,under direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist, learns and becomes competent per Common Spirit Health at Home standards of practice in the following:

  • Measuring and compounding medication, maintaining patient records, performing those duties deemed acceptable by the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • To communicate with patients about supply and deliveries of medications, coordinating continuation or discontinuation of services, processing refill prescriptions and documents in the patients’ records, utilizing administrative and clinical knowledge to assist Pharmacists as they provide medication and other health care products to patients.
  • This position assists in the preparation of I.V. medications and supplies for clients and maintains a clean and organized pharmacy.
  • Responsible for executing all processes in the production of compounded sterile preparations, while strictly adhering to USP 797 regulations and departments Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Accurately prepares and assembles patient specific supplies for delivery to clients. Assembles ancillary supply pre-packaging as directed.
  • Assists with retrieval and documentation of lab results as needed for patient assessment. 17. Performs all duties of a PSR (Patient Service Representative).
  • Processes refill prescriptions under the direction of a Pharmacist.
  • Pulls medication for sterile compounds following appropriate lots/exp on the work order. 20. Assists with receiving and stocking supplies and return processing of medications and supplies purchased. Assists with the quarterly inventory .
  • Assists with packaging of patient medication/supplies for delivery in some locations as needed. Maintains delivery manifest. 
  • Assists with retrieval and documentation of lab results as needed for patient assessment.
  • Completes mandatory compliance audits and examinations.
  • Able to transfer Infusion inventory to other electronic medical record system sites. Assists in maintaining and ordering all medication and medical supplies for the pharmacy, processing recalls, and processing expired inventory. 

Qualifications

 

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • State Pharmacy Technician licensure in the state employed. 
  • Obtains national certification within 12 months of employment .
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Excellent math skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility and ability to work as part of a 
  • multidisciplinary team
  • Self-directed with excellent time management skills and ability to work independently. 
  • Working knowledge of medical technology. 
  • Availability for full-time, regular day time hours and ability to work on-call hours. 

Pay Range
$18.42 - $25.33 /hour
