We Are Looking For
A Compounding Technician who will have a unique hybrid role within our pharmacy, where they will be able to work in the compounding lab as well as in the dispensing area. In this position, you would be able to create compounded pharmaceutical products according to their master formulation and standard operating procedures under the supervision of licensed Pharmacists. This position will also participate in medication fulfillment and provide exceptional customer service while assisting patients.
Compounded pharmaceutical products differ from commercially available products as they are created according to master formulations using bulk ingredients and offer unique opportunities for patients and providers.
Responsibilities
- Creates compounded pharmaceutical products according to the master formulations
- Laboratory-specific tasks such as cleaning, equipment maintenance/calibration, inventory management, restocking, etc.
- Follows all standard operating procedures and works towards the goals set forth by the Laboratory Manager, Pharmacists, and the Director of Sona Compounding
- Flexible participation in all aspects of the fulfillment process as needed
- Assist clients on the phone, via text-messaging, and in person at the in-store pickup location with prescriptions, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, and special orders
- Organize pickups, deliveries, and shipments and resolve pending issues
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting patients with inquiries and referring them to a pharmacist when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, stock retail items, daily inventory maintenance, keep the pharmacy neat and organized
- Ensure up-to-date patient information is on file and maintain HIPAA patient confidentiality

- Previous pharmacy experience is not required
- Ability to do basic calculations
