The Role:
As a Components / Sustaining Engineer in D3’s Custom Product Manufacturing (CPM) department, you will specify, select and approve electronic components for various products. You will analyze and troubleshoot electronic circuits to identify and solve problems. You will work with other engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of electronic components into products.
The Responsibilities:
Specify, select and approve electronic components for various products
Identify suitable replacements for components that are unavailable/end of life
Test electronic components to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards
Analyze and troubleshoot electronic circuits to identify and solve problems
Work with other engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of electronic components into products
Develop and maintain product documentation, including schematics, bill of materials, and test plans
Keep up to date with the latest electronic component technologies and trends
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Provide Sustaining Engineering support for existing products, including troubleshooting and redesign efforts
Manage product documentation as a document librarian, including organizing, updating, and maintaining records of product development activities
The Right Person Will Have:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronic design and development.
Strong understanding of electronic circuits and components
Proficiency in electronic design software, such as Altium Designer, OrCAD/Allegro
Experience with testing and troubleshooting electronic circuits
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as IPC, RoHS, and REACH
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience with Sustaining Engineering and/or document librarian responsibilities is preferred
Strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple sustaining projects
