JOB TITLE: Competition Pool Monitor/Event Staff
REPORTS TO: Facilities Director
FLSA TYPE: Non-Exempt
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Comp Pool Monitor enforces facility rules and regulations in assigned area(s); inspects the facility for maintenance/janitorial/hazard issues and notifies management as necessary. In addition, the Comp Pool Monitor will provide support to all areas of the Aquatics Department in accordance with the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor members and participants in facility assigned.
• Inspect the facility for maintenance/janitorial issues.
• Will be responsible for opening/closing the facility during events.
• Will help with equipment set up/take down for swim meets.
• Communicate and enforce all facility rules in a personable, professional and consistent manner.
• Identify and remedy potential accident hazards.
• Must possess a cooperative spirit committed to the Mission and Values of the YMCA.
• Ability to relate to YMCA staff, members and program participants.
• Must be mentally alert to dangerous situations in order to assure the safety of all participants.
• Must work a variety of schedules including evenings and weekends.

EFFECT ON END RESULTS:
This position directly affects the overall Competition Pool Facility. When done properly, the Competition Pool area will have a positive and safe atmosphere for all staff, members and participants.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be certified in CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have personal characteristics consistent with the YMCA Core Values.
• Must be able to communicate with a variety of ages.

Salary Description
$10.00 per hour
