Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and organizing
- Assist with behavior management for clients with autism or other behavioral challenges
- Lift and transfer clients as needed, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times
- Respect and uphold the rights of residents
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a caregiver or companion preferred
- Knowledge of autism and behavior management techniques is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects and assist with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
