Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services is a leader in programs and services for people of all ages who are blind, vision impaired, or who have other disabilities. We are committed to improving the lives of persons with vision loss and related disabilities by teaching independence and self-advocacy. Each year, BVRS accomplishes its mission by serving more than 1,500 adults and teenagers in rehabilitation, vocational, and support programs and an additional 15,000 children through its free vision screening program throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Job Summary
Develop, administer and coordinate program activities and plans for assigned clients. Responsible for supervising and instructing clients on functional, social, community, behavioral and vocational skills. Will implement programs with Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services staff members and community resources so clients can reach their optimum potential.
Responsibilities and Duties
Supervision and individualized instruction of program clients
Planning and directing program activities based on clients' needs
Case management of assigned clients
Record keeping as required
Attend annual reviews of assigned clients
Maintain twenty-four hours of training (CPR, First Aid & Medication Administration)
Qualifications and Skills
REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in Social Work, special education, psychology, or other related field
REQUIRED 2+ years of experience working with persons with disabilities
Attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively
