COMMUNITY STANDARDS AND RESOURCE COORDINATOR

University Housing at Coastal Carolina University seeks a dynamic individual for the position of Community Standards & Resource Coordinator (Student Services Program Coordinator II) reporting to the Associate Director for Resident Success. This is a full-time, live-in professional staff position. University Housing has experienced exciting and rapid growth over recent years. University Housing is home to more than 5,200 students.
The Community Standards & Resource Coordinator will serve as an entry-level professional working directly with University Housing’s Resident Success Team to foster a student environment that fulfills the goals and mission of University Housing. The Community Standards & Resource Coordinator serves as a live-in staff member that works directly with University Housing’s Resident Success unit as well as the Dean of Student’s Office to manage the administrative responsibilities as well as the outreach to residents residing in facilities managed by University Housing who may need follow up or support to remain safe and successful at Coastal Carolina University.
Duties include, but are not limited: serving as the point of contact for student behavior with the Dean of Students office; processing incident reports; serving as a case manager; educating and holding students accountable for their behaviors. There may also be opportunities to participate in and lead committees, teach the FYE course (UNIV 110), and advise student organizations. The Community Standards & Resource Coordinator also serves in a 24/7 administrator on-call and supports staff rotations with a minimum response time expectation.
Requirements: A master’s degree and experience in student services programs and response to student behavioral issues is required. Must have a valid state driver’s license and acceptable three (3) year driving record. Professional experience in a university or college student housing setting, including live-in/live-on duties is preferred. Prior experience serving as a hearing officer or case manager, educating and holding students accountable for their behavior, and co-curricular programming based on student development theory are all preferred.
On-campus housing and meal plan assignments are required to be accepted as a condition of employment and to properly perform work duties. Physically able to walk through communities, including up/downstairs in communities without elevators. Able to work evenings and weekends throughout the year and able to respond to on-campus crisis and emergencies. Considered “essential personnel” and required to participate in campus-wide emergencies such as weather and structural emergencies. Able to attend overnight conferences and drive state vehicles transporting staff and students for work functions.

Student Services Program Coordinator II (CB70/61122844/FTE-S00978P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Salary range: $37,860.00 (minimum) – $53,957.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Serves in a 24/7 administrator on-call and support staff rotations-with a minimum response time expectation.

Required Qualifications:

A Master’s degree and experience in student services programs and response to student behavioral issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional experience in a university or college student housing setting, including live-in/live-on duties. Prior experience serving as a hearing officer or case manager, educating and holding students accountable for their behavior, and co-curricular programming based on student development theory.

Licensure and/or Certification:

Must have a valid state driver’s license and acceptable three (3) year driving record.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to apply student development theory in everyday practice, promote academic success and social justice within a community, and familiarity with residential facilities. Competence in primary computer applications, database management, and attention to detail in administrative responsibilities.
