Location: Renton, WA (Must currently reside in the Greater Seattle area)

Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000 annually

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week

The Role:

This newly-created position is ideally based in our Renton office. The role is critical to Ideal Option by providing supervision for case managers and peer outreach specialists and coordinating outreach activities for our clinics in Seattle and surrounding areas. Case managers provide outreach, long-term engagement and supportive services for participants through intensive case management activities and collaboration with LEAD partners, service providers, housing providers and other community organizations. Peer outreach specialists support Ideal Option patients as they begin medication-assisted treatment and progress toward sustainable recovery.


As Community Outreach Manager/LEAD Supervisor, you will divide your time between conducting outreach and supervision in the field or office, and representing Ideal Option at meetings with LEAD partners. You may also provide direct case management services to individuals as needed.


As a Case Manager/Peer Support Specialist much of your time will be spent in the field providing peer outreach and case management services to individuals suspected of low-level drug offenses in collaboration with LEAD partners, service providers, housing providers and other community based organizations.


Job responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct supervision, management, and reporting for five direct reports (case managers & peers).
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with LEAD partners including Seattle Police Department, King County Sheriff, King County and City of Seattle Prosecutor’s office.
  • Represent Ideal Option and the LEAD Project at community meetings, attending events, conducting outreach, and building awareness.
  • Develop relationships with existing and potential community partners, referring providers, potential patients, and other stakeholders with direct outreach, field marketing, attendance at community events, meetings, workshops.
  • Provide education and training to community-based organizations and providers about LEAD, Ideal Option, medication-assisted treatment, and substance use disorder to broaden acceptance of addiction as a chronic disease and continue to reduce stigma and misconceptions about the disease.


Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Representing Ideal Option and the LEAD Project at community meetings, attending events, conducting outreach, and building awareness.
  • Develop relationships with existing and potential community partners, referring providers, potential patients, and other stakeholders with direct outreach, field marketing, attendance at community events, meetings, workshops.
  • Work at various partner sites throughout the area each week to raise awareness for Ideal Option’s services and guide staff members and patients through virtual intake and provider visits.
  • Provide education and training to community-based organizations and providers about LEAD, Ideal Option, medication-assisted treatment, and substance use disorder to broaden acceptance of addiction as a chronic disease and continue to reduce stigma and misconceptions about the disease.
  • Activities require a significant amount of community interaction and presence in the field
  • Significant walking and standing relative to interaction with patients and community partners

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Peer, case manager, or health worker supervision experience.
  • Experience serving populations impacted by extreme poverty, behavioral health conditions, and mental illness from a harm reduction model of care.
  • Experience supporting and advocating for participants within the criminal justice system including court appearances and written communication.
  • Street outreach experience providing services and resources to the populations we serve.
  • Ability to advocate and effectively communicate and problem-solve under pressure in high-stress situations.
  • Must live in the greater Seattle area and be familiar with Seattle resources.
  • The ability to respectfully engage and develop a working alliance with the people we are serving.
  • Exceptional communication skills, computer skills, and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, a responsive and reliable team player.
Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Peer, case manager, or health worker supervision experience.
  • An undergraduate degree related to social services or behavioral health.
  • Experience working with communities involved in street-based sex work.
  • 1-2 years working with people in recovery providing guidance and support.
  • Experience working with a CRM system.
  • Experience with an EHR system and HIPAA compliance.
  • Certified Recovery Mentor Certificate or Peer Support Specialist Certification.
