JOB TITLE:   

Community Outreach Coordinator - Wyoming Pathways from Prison

JOB PURPOSE:   

Coordinate and manage the operational, financial, and personnel functions of a large and/or complex specialized project(s) for a Wyoming Pathways from Prison (WPfP) under very limited supervision. Coordinate between the Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC), WPfP, UW, and other state and national agencies to implement the mission of WPfP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Coordinate and manage the administrative, financial, and personnel activities of Wyoming Pathways from Prison, under limited supervision.
  • Represent Wyoming or the University at meetings and events, if necessary, which may include reporting on projects, planning collaborations with other project professionals, and coordination between various stakeholders (e.g., WDOC, various foundations, Wyoming Workforce Services, et al.).
  • Coordinate and plan grant writing and fundraising activities.
  • Develop program budgets; monitor expenses against budget allocations.
  • Produce high-quality content for public engagement and advocacy, including communications, promotional materials for events. Develop and maintain high-quality social media engagement. Website management.
  • Support WDOC staff on-site as needed, and serve as the main point of contact between UW and WDOC.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • May provide academic support for incarcerated students.
  • Represent the program on University or division/college committees, as directed.
  • May perform additional special assignments.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

Due to requirements for travel and in person support, this position is eligible for flexible work schedule, and some remote work, with an average of at least 2 days/week on-campus or at WDOC facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education:  Bachelor's degree

Experience: 1 year work-related experience, including project support, program administration, and/or work or volunteer experience serving marginalized populations

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: 

  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
  • Must have passed or be able to pass a background check with WDOC.
  • Must complete required WDOC training.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Advanced degree in a humanities field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Work or volunteer experience in academic or academic support roles (teaching, tutoring, etc.)
  • Work or volunteer experience with incarcerated populations
