Job Description

KROC CENTER MISSION
In keeping with the mission of The Salvation Army, The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center provides facilities, programs and services that strengthen, encourage and enrich children, adults, and seniors through positive life-changing experiences.
SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE
Providesupportand strategic assistance tothemarketing, communications,andevents initiativesforKroc, including public relations, traditional marketing,social marketing, Community Outreach and events, internal events, and community engagement, and to representKrocat community functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Oversee all aspects of facility rentals and special event development and operations (i.e., ordering, prepping, serving, facility needs, promotion, staff coordination). Ensure all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are utilized.
  2. Oversee and maintain facility usage calendar, serving as the point person for coordination across the facility.
  3. PresentKrocto community leaders,groups, potential sponsors,and organizationsthroughidentifyingand executing networking opportunities, trade shows, community events and other community engagement opportunities.
  4. Work in conjunction with the Marketing Communications team on the preparation, postingand distribution ofpress releases, media alerts, feature stories, event alerts and media invitesand other communication regardingKroc Centerprogrammingneeds.
  5. Maintain and execute contracts, process payments, and create accurate sales reports.
  6. AssiststheDirector ofMarketingin the coordination,preparation,and implementation of the strategic plan forThe Salvation Army ofKroc Center.
  7. Assistsinidentifying and proposing internal and external stories,testimonials,developing public statements and talking points, and preparing/coachingKroc Centerrepresentatives for anyinitiatives.
  8. Creates acommunityevent attendance plan, coordinatesall event appearances, records and tracks outcomes, coordinates and maintains relationships with MOU partners, and handles all event follow up as necessary.
  9. Responsible for the recruiting, hiring, orienting and supervision of Event Hosts, and secure appropriate staffing from across Kroc roles for proper event execution.
  10. Assists in the creation of various reports as needed.
  11. Providescoverage as ManagerOnDuty.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, with preferred major in public relations, public administration, or business.
  • 2 years experience in similar responsibilities or equivalent in a facility offering similar programs and/or services, including cash handling.

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Applicant must posses a valid Wisconsin Driver's license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army's insurance carrier. CPR/AED/First Aid certification to be obtained within first 60 days of employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to address multiple projects in a timely manner while being responsive and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner.

  • Exercise good judgment in personal actions. Ability to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines; ability to work well and effectively with volunteers
  • Thorough understanding of Greater Green Bay area as well and regional markets and demographics
  • Knowledge of non-profit development trends
  • Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products, e-mail, and Internet.

This job is performed in a busy community center with variable noise level and temperature. The noise level in this work environment can vary from low to loud. The duties of this job will be performed in various settings within a community center including a typical office setting, gymnasium, game room, and aquatics center where conditions may be cooler, warmer and more or less humid than a normal office environment.
For other duties of this job, such as outdoor special events and community center activities, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment outdoors is usually moderate to loud.
This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
