Community Outreach Coordinator - Part-Time - Remote

We are seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team part-time! We are an online project-based Iowa High School. This position is 100% remote and may include hours outside a typical school schedule depending on the needs of the students and school. Flexible schedule. Remote work. Class taught remotely M-F.

Summary:
The part-time Community Outreach Position will represent the school and work with the Executive Director to develop and implement initiatives that increase school visibility within the served communities. The ideal team player must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and aware of community resources as well as have experience cultivating relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage the local community(ies) and promote awareness of our school's mission and programs.
• Assist the Executive Director in nurturing new and old relationships with collaborative partners.
• Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities.
• Schedule regular outreach exhibitions in the served communities and provide feedback on community responsibility.
• Assist in the preparation of an annual budget for Community Outreach activities.
• Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, businesses, and local leaders to foster collaboration and support for the school, including our in-school and post-graduation job training program.
• Collaborate with teachers, students, mentors, and administration to create marketing materials and communication strategies to effectively convey the impact and needs of our school.
• Assist in the cultivation and development of proposals.
• Track and report performance.
• Works with and coordinates with the Choice Charter School Job Coach.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with high school students or young adults.
• Understanding outreach and fundraising practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in virtual communication practices and relevant online technology.
• Experience working with and developing relationships with community leaders and/or businesses.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in social work, communications, marketing, business, or related fields.
• Preferred experience of 2 to 5 years conducting outreach, community engagement, case management, and or non-profit fund development.
• Outstanding written communication and presentation skills.
• Strong experience preparing reports.
• Familiarity with businesses in the State of Iowa.
