Position Description

Job Title: Community Outreach Minister

This includes Pastoral Assistant Minister, Outreach, Online Ministry, Volunteer Coordination, and Community Care. This position has the option of adding the title of Minister if the applicant is qualified.

Immediate Supervisor: Senior Pastor

Summary Statement: This person will be responsible to assist the pastor(s), staff, committees, and council in all functions to deliver quality ministry to the congregation. This person will be active in the community and grow the kingdom of God through Faith Lutheran Church. This person will be responsible for ministry and building ministry opportunities for Faith Lutheran Church.

Position Responsibilities: The person in this position is responsible for the following. This summary list will not encompass every task performed in this position.

• This person will lead small group ministry, including nurturing existing groups, Organizing/creating new groups, recruiting, training, and supporting small group leaders.
• This person will be the outreach leader for the church.
• Will work with the evangelism team.
• Will be an active community liaison as a Faith Lutheran Church representative.
• Will partner with other local churches to make an impact on the community.
• Promotes church activities through local advertisements.
• Promotes Faith Lutheran ministries throughout the community.
• Will reach out to people new to the church to find a place where they can fit into Faith Lutheran.
• This person will lead and coordinate the online ministry. These things include a podcast, social media, the webpage(s), and all future internet ministries.
• This person will oversee volunteer coordination for all congregational activities and ministries.
• This will include scheduling, tracking, building, maintaining current volunteers, and recruiting new ones.
• Coordinate home-bound outreach.
• Incorporate members and community into ministry opportunities.
• Facilitate matching spiritual gifts with ministry opportunities.
• This person will communicate with the congregation, staff, and pastor(s), and provide liaison and administrative pastoral support, including:
• Provide office support/ backup
• Provide a monthly report to the congregation via the newsletter
• Attend the annual meeting
• Update the ministry plan
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Serve as committee/staff liaison as needed or directed
• Support committees of the church as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
