The Liaison will also help them to learn how to live effectively in the MarshalltownCommunity. Community Liaison will act as a community developer, identifying and addressing the needs and concerns of local residents concerning new entrants who may need help establishing in the area.Candidate will work in a variety of ways to promote positive relationships between employees and non-employees residing inMarshalltown.
Responsible for managing high-level collaborative efforts between the City and JBS, including communications, program management, and regular interaction with students, residents, political figures, businesses, charitable and social organizations, and the media. Candidate will represent JBSMarshalltownin during public and community meetings and address questions, concerns and issues from resident, employees and future employees.Responsibilities:Advocating for employees, ensuring that their concerns and issues are communicated to management.Identifying and addressing the housing, medical, and other needs of recent immigrants.Work with property owners/managers on issues associated with transportation, code enforcement, parking, neighbor relations, and local ordinancesAttending appropriate meetings for the city, neighborhood groups, collaborative task forces, and public forumsDeveloping and implementing the outreach strategy of JBSMarshalltownand bringing interested parties (social services, schools, etc.) together as part of the development of thecommunityMaintaining and updating all display boards, electronic monitors, paperwork, signage and visual displays at JBS, in accordance with the Policy and Procedures Manual.Managing and participating in all aspects of thecommunity s activities to improve work or City relations and neighborhood quality of life issues.Assists inHR with HR functionsRequirements:All candidates must be able to work with a diverse population, and have a valid Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicleFlexibility in workplace days/hours could be required to fulfill job requirementsWillingness to travel as neededMust be able to communicate with key groups of refugees.Multilingualism would be considered an asset for this positionAbility to work independently, with little supervisionHigh level of energy and a positive attitude with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environmentTrustworthy and professionalDesirable to be multilingual or able to communicate effectively with a different ethnic groupsEducation:A combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to completion of a bachelor s degree with major coursework in English, journalism, marketing, public relations or communications or related fieldGood understanding about the specific needs of immigrants as they integrate into American societyApproved by: Marisela RamirezTitle: Employment ManagerPosting Date: 02/28/2024Closing Date: 03/09/2024JBS is an Equal Opportunity EmployerEOE/Vets/Disabled
