Job description

Job Description: As a Skills Instructor/Coach, you will be responsible for picking up and driving up to 3 adults with developmental disabilities on a daily basis and providing the participants with guidance regarding Community Integration, social recreation/leisure skills, shopping in natural environments, money management, personal health and hygiene, use of community resources, community safety, fun community activities and how to utilize public transportation.

Villa's Community Integration Program (CIP) is a community based day program designed to meet the needs of adults living with intellectual/developmental disabilities who have a strong desire to work and would like to continue building their employment related skills through supervised volunteer opportunities, as well as independent living skills training.

Compensation:

  • $20.00/hour.
  • Sign on bonus of $1,500
  • **Final candidates who complete this process will also be eligible for a sign on bonus of $1,500 with *$250*payable upon completion of the first 3 months of employment,*$350* payable upon completion of 6 months,*$400* payable upon completion of 9 months, and *$500* payable upon completion of 12 months of employment.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (35 hours/week)

Requirements:

  • High school or equivalent
  • Experience assisting special needs individuals; 1 year.
  • Driver’s License. Please be advised that this position will require driving your personal vehicle and proper vehicle insurance therefore all openings require a valid CA Driver's License and 3 years of verifiable driving history.
  • Pass a background fingerprinting clearance from DOJ/FBI Community Care Licensing/Dept. of Social Services
  • Willing to work in the Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Simi Valley area.
  • The Community Integration program is governed by Department of Transportation/DOT Regulations which require candidates hired for the position to participate in an initial drug testing under DOT and also participate in random selection testing.

Final candidates must satisfactorily complete a fingerprinting clearance, physical & TB screenings.

*For entry level positions/direct care staff we are willing to train the right candidate!*

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
