The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill two (2) vacancies for the classification of Community Health Worker I in the Federally Qualified Health Center Division. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies in this classification for up to four (4) months.
To provide services that increase health knowledge, self-sufficiency, and support self-management of diseases and health conditions to assigned clients/families through a range of activities such as outreach, health education, connecting individuals with resources, informal counseling, social/peer support and advocacy. To support providers, health educators, and case management teams through an integrated approach to care management and community outreach.
This recruitment will close on or before the date list above, once a sufficient number of qualified applicants have been identified.The current vacancy is in Ryan White program, but may be used to fill future vacancies through the District.

Education and Training:
- Equivalent to graduation from high school .
Experience:
- Preferred: minimum of one year of experience in non-profit/community advocacy work or completion of Community Health Worker training .
- Prior experience in medical record keeping desirable
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Prior experience working with HIV & High risk populations preferred
License/Certification:
- Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License as a condition of employment
Desirable Qualifications:
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
