WHO ARE WE? 

The JK Movement is a Black founded respected nonprofit dedicated to inspiring and empowering effective change in the hearts, minds, spirits, and bodies of young people (13-24) from the culturally historic and disinvested Rondo community (St. Paul, Minnesota). The JK Movement achieves it mission and accomplishes its goals by standing on strong principles, including being a safety, Healing Centered engaged organization; an organization known for seeking and listening to the voices of young people to shape the organization, honoring, and celebrating cultural values and believing lived experience is a key to effective change. Strong partnerships and alliances with the community, other organizations, city, state, county, and community members are essential parts of the JK Movement. 


 WHAT DO WE NEED? 

A dedicated, creative, and detailed-oriented self-starter committed to inspiring staff and peer youth advocates to prevent engagement in crime and violence. This is a new, exciting full-time opportunity for a dedicated, caring individual seeking a purpose-filled experience. Reporting to the JK Movement Executive Director, the Community Healing Centered Program and Outcome Manager, will apply their specialized expertise, knowledge, and creativity to manage and conduct the details of the JKM workplan defined as part of the Community Crime Prevention and Intervention (CCPI initiative, a contract with the Minnesota Office of Justice Programs. The person selected will supervise staff navigators and a team of peer youth ambassadors and community stakeholders to achieve outcomes. 


 WHAT WILL THIS PERSON DO? 

• Understand and be trained in Healing Centered Engagement principles (i.e., Flourish Agenda, Oakland, CA, Dr. Shawn Ginwrite). 

• Conduct high quality, healing-centered strategies to implement with all youth, programs, and services. This includes hiring and training staff and youth. 

• Set goals and create strategies to achieve program and workplan objectives. 

• Plan, coordinate and manage daily activities, services, including protocols and processes to comply with grant, agency and financial regulations and work plan. 

• Gather evidence-based outcome data according to expected outcomes. 

• Monitor and synthesize evidence based, principled-driven data for timely reports. 

• Oversee record keeping, data collection, management, or program. 

• Represent the JK Movement internally and externally on Healing Centered principles for preventing community and youth violence. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 


WHAT’S NEEDED TO APPLY? 

Bachelor's degree. Degree in social sciences, such as social work or psychology preferred. Master's degree optional. 

Experience: 

Four (4) years of experience in program planning and coordinating, preferably in a community or university setting. 

Experience in violence prevention and case management highly preferred. 

Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of work coordination, training, or supervision. 

Certification/Licensure: Licensure may be required based on the nature of the program, such as Licensed Master Social Work - (LMSW) or Licensed Certified Social Worker Clinical (LCSW-C) in the State of Minnesota. 

Experience, comfort and understanding of the importance of culture in holistic healing. 

No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement. In cases where a master’s degree is required it will not substitute for equivalent required years of related experience. Ability to demonstrate, understand, apply, and adhere to the foundation and Healing Centered principles of the JKM.
