This Community Engagement & Outreach Representative (CPEO Rep) will develop meaningful relationships with key stakeholders. He/she will identify market strategies to support Medicaid/Medicare products and drive membership growth & retention for the health plan products they support. The CPEO Rep is a community-based role aimed at developing community relationships, brand awareness and promoting the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. With their marketing acumen and public relations experience, CPEO Reps have the opportunity to be the face of the company and share the mission of our company - to help people live healthier lives and help make the health system work better for everyone.

If you are located in New Mexico, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate understanding of all New Mexico Medicaid & Medicare lines of business as they apply to managed care to facilitate marketing and growth initiatives
  • Build, manage and maintain strong relationships with community-based and faith-based organizations, select Community program participants and associations to build trust and align SMART growth priorities
  • Coordinate compliant formal and informal events to open the door for growth, brand awareness, Provider, member and community education
  • Engage select Community program participants with face-to-face and virtual visits
  • Track all activities, events, contacts and relationship progress daily through internal systems and platforms
  • Make recommendations to leadership regarding sponsorship for special projects and subsequently, manage the end-to-end process
  • Educate providers on general policies and procedures applicable to the delivery of care (e.g., regulatory, quality of care, health plan benefits and online tools and resources)
  • Represent UnitedHealthcare at market meetings, forums, events and conferences, as assigned
  • Responsible for planning, deploying and reporting results
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
  • Organize and manage Member Advisory committees
  • Create and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of growth activity including budget

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience

Required Qualifications: 

  • 3 years of healthcare, managed care or equivalent experience
  • Experience in public presentations of member, provider and community benefit/programs
  • Experience in marketing and/or communications
  • Medicare/Medicaid experience
  • Experience in CMS/State Marketing guidelines for Medicare/Medicaid
  • Salesforce knowledge and experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to work core business hours, Monday - Friday, 40 hours, overtime, weeknights and weekends, as required
  • Have an insured, dependable vehicle with current driver's license
  • Willing or ability to travel locally up to 75% of the time within this posted NM territory/service delivery area NM and to other markets as needed               

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Experience working with communities of all different ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, diverse populations and/or underserved communities  
  • Proven established professional relationships with non-profits, community sources, religious/faith-based organizations
  • Bilingual Spanish or Native American languages
