OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
The Colorado Longitudinal Study (COLS) is a nonprofit startup based in Fort Collins, Colorado, committed to supporting research that addresses early disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, for people from diverse (socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, age, demographic, and lifestyle) backgrounds. In our effort to move toward health equity, we are building a uniquely powerful and efficient resource that will be used to study complex interactions between biological, sociological, and environmental factors that lead to different health outcomes for different people.
The Community Engagement Liaison will work directly with the Community Engagement Manager to expand our Ambassador Volunteer program and a variety of initiatives focused on community building and participant recruitment. This position will oversee the Ambassador Volunteer program and community outreach events, and be responsible for reporting successes and challenges to our leadership team. COLS will provide training on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity, and community integrity best practices. The ideal candidate for this position must be purpose oriented, curious, patient, bold, and diplomatic. A background in education, coaching, public speaking, public health, sociology, cultural anthropology, a related field or experience. The position is office-based in Fort Collins, and involves in-person events out in the community. May include evening and weekend hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Oversee Ambassador Volunteer program including volunteer training and scheduling
- Build and maintain volunteer database
- Attend community events
- Act as a liaison between the Community Engagement Manager and Ambassador Volunteers
- Assist the Community Engagement Manager with community outreach and event planning
- Collect quantitative and qualitative data about recruiting efforts
- Regular reports to leadership team detailing successes and challenges experienced during recruiting and engagement activities

SALARY & BENEFITS
- Salary: $40,000-$45,000 based on qualifications and experience
- Benefits plan is in development; as a base, benefits will be paid at 10% of salary in the form of an IRA contribution or health care reimbursement

- Full-time position (40 hours per week)
