Summary:

The Communications Coordinator (CC) implements a robust marketing plan that ensures high visibility in order to meet programmatic and financial goals. The CC designs, writes, edits, publishes and disseminates all internal and external communications; writes and distributes press releases; develops and implements social media strategy; and manages website edits/changes.

Essential Functions:

  • Implements the JFS marketing plan.
  • Compiles and drafts monthly newsletters.
  • Develops and implements social media strategy.
  • Drafts and designs annual reports and manages production.
  • Maintains the website.
  • Produces printed materials for internal and external use and oversees adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Facilitates the design & production of e-news, flyers, postcards, posters, cards, brochures, signs, and ads for internal and external use.
  • Writes and distributes press releases.
  • Develops and maintains media relationships.
  • Updates email database for e-news recipients.
  • Maintains and updates the annual communications calendar.
  • Posts and updates JFS events with other organizations and sources.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
  • Complies with all company policies and standards.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications or other related field required.

Work Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Software knowledge
    • Canva, Photoshop, Page Maker, Microsoft Office Suite, and others.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge on the use of social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) in marketing and communication.
  • Demonstrates teamwork and support of the JFS mission and values.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the use of office equipment, computers and related software applications.

Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in an inside office environment.

PhysicalDemands:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel:

Travel within the community is required.
