Sugar Hollow Solar is hiring a Commercial Solar Sales Consultant! The ideal candidate is someone who is goals-oriented, has B2B sales and Solar Sales experience, enjoys taking great care of their customers, and has a passion for renewable energy!

Job Overview:

*This posting is for a fully remote role for someone residing in Greenville, SC, with the intention of helping us expand our commercial installations in the Greenville, SC, area.

The Commercial Solar Sales Consultant serves in a commercial sales role for the organization. They will be responsible for selling the clean energy products that Sugar Hollow Solar sells and installs - primarily solar electric and battery backup systems. The Commercial Solar Energy Consultant reports to the Commercial Sales & Design Manager.

Remote, Full-time, Salary, Exempt

$80,000 - $130,000/yr

Base salary plus sales commission based on sold jobs, with significant upside for high achievers!

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive company leads and follow up in a timely manner
  • Self-generate leads through multiple channels, including referrals, professional networks, direct outreach, and events
  • Conduct initial meetings with customers to determine scope of work and viability of the project
  • Collect and analyze utility data, perform site visits with team members from design & operations, and work with the Commercial Project Developer to create a proposal
  • Support the customer from initial contact through contract signing and handoff to the Operations department, while continuing to support the customer as needed through commissioning and beyond
  • Help resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, suggesting solutions, and working with others in the company to implement them
  • Regularly keep CRM (Insightly) up to date with pertinent notes and information regarding the opportunity/project
  • Create and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
  • Meet or exceed sales goals and be accountable for past and future monthly sales metrics
  • Shape and implement the strategic vision for sales & marketing plans, including customer acquisition growth, with a focus on advancing the Sugar Hollow brand within the renewable energy industry
  • Engage with external partners, agencies, and vendors for marketing initiatives
  • Provide a great overall customer experience (professional, personable, and trustworthy)
  • Maintain clear and positive lines of communication with the Operations department
  • Participate in ongoing product training, weekly commercial sales meetings, and quarterly all-staff meetings
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices

Key Performance Indicators: Signed contracts, close rate, customer satisfaction, and job profitability

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of solar and/or B2B technical sales experience
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to understand their needs and provide solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation abilities, and storytelling skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Strong ability to make complex technical information simple to understand
  • Exceptional organizational and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with project management principles
  • Experience in CRM software, Microsoft Suite, and Google Suite
  • Valid driver's license
  • NABCEP PV Technical Sales or PV Installation Professional certified preferred
