Job Title: Commercial Loan Processor Revision Date: November, 2023

Reports to: Loan Operations Manager

Supervises: None


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Commercial Loan Processor has direct responsibility for the processing and closing of Commercial Loan transactions in compliance with state and federal laws and Bank lending policies and procedures.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  1. Facilitates loan documentation preparation and review, inclusive of applicable disclosure and closing documentation required across a full commercial product line which includes, but is not limited to, commercial mortgages, lines of credit, letters of credit, municipal leases, and other secured loans.
  2. Review approved loan requests prepared by loan officers and credit analysts to ensure file completeness. Follow-up with customers and loan officers to obtain necessary documentation and information to accommodate timely loan closing.
  3. Regularly review documentation to verify accuracy and completeness, and to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and the Bank's lending policies and procedures.
  4. Serve as liaison between loan officers, outside counsel, insurance agents, vendors, and customers throughout the origination process. Schedule and coordinate loan closings with all interested parties.
  5. Establish, maintain, and update files, systems, records, and/or other documents to accommodate recurring report generation for internal use, audit, and regular data reporting.
  6. Order necessary services from third party vendors, inclusive of appraisal reports, title search, flood data, etc.
  7. Prepare commitment letters, adverse action notifications, and modifications/change-in-terms documentation as necessary and maintain/update associated workflow logs.
  8. Develop and maintain proficiency as an end-user of the Bank's document processing, electronic document distribution, and document vaulting systems. Ensure proper filing and indexing of all executed loan documentation within said vaulting system.
  9. Attend and contribute within weekly Department meetings to ensure proper pipeline management, meet deadlines, and establish a closure schedule in line with Bank and customer expectations.
  10. Prepare fund request documentation to allow the wiring of funds to accommodate loan closing.
  11. Make recommendations for procedural changes to increase efficiency and productivity within the position.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Function as a back-up to additional loan processing positions within the Loan Department


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to perform duties independently with some direction
  • Take quick action, sometimes in spite of limited information
  • Operate various office equipment, secures supplies and files
  • Digital dexterity and eye/hand coordination in the operation of office equipment
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, manipulate a computer keyboard 75% of the day
  • Light lifting and carrying of supplies, files, etc.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others in person, over the phone, and via email
  • Cognitive ability to learn and assimilate knowledge
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills somewhat varied in scope and complexity, requiring referencing and interpreting policies and procedures
  • Perform moderate to complex mathematical calculations
  • Maintain a high working knowledge of bank loan policy
  • Sufficient judgment and analytical skills to prepare complex documents and reports

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in loan servicing/administration
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate and real estate disbursement products, documentation, loan boarding and closing procedures
  • Knowledge of Commercial Loan and business documentation
  • Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, bank operational policies and procedures and bank products and services
  • Strong computer knowledge and aptitude
  • Intermediate or better knowledge of MS Office products and bank core and processing systems
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Basic accounting and strong math skills required
  • Advanced ability to analyze, research and interpret data
  • Knowledge of Laserpro preferred
