POSITION TITLE: LANDSCAPE TECHNICIAN I

DEPARTMENT: COMMERICAL

REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Landscape Technician I is responsible for the overall maintenance of contractual grounds and tasks assigned by Section Lead, completing training and certifications necessary to accomplish tasks to standard and complying with published procedures and regulations. Performs other duties assigned by Section Lead and Supervisor.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Care for lawns and plants using a variety of tools, including rakes, saws, shovels, trimmers, axe and pruning saws, to ensure they remain aesthetically pleasing.

Conduct general maintenance duties such as cleaning walkways, fixing fountains and other duties.

Mow the grass using edger's and mowers, keeping it at an optimal height.

Keep plants and flowers healthy by pruning and trimming trees and shrubs and weeding, mulching and aerating.

Plant new grass and foliage following planned designs to create the yard as prescribed by the client.

Fertilize the lawns and plants and apply any herbicides or pesticides to keep the foliage healthy and thriving.

Monitor the sprinkler system to ensure it regularly waters the lawns and reset it as necessary, as well as water by hand when needed to maintain the health of the plants.

Keep flower beds and garden areas clean by picking up any dead branches and flowers as well as trimming or picking the plants as needed.

Assist in placing decorative rocks, stones, statues and other items around the lawn to facilitate the completion of the overall aesthetic look.

Responsible for the accountability of cleaning and maintenance of all equipment to include, but not limited to, checking fluid levels, sharpening tools, and proper store equipment.

Responsible for adhering to all published safety guidelines to include but not limited to posted procedures, equipment operating instructions, Safety Data Sheets and reporting safety concerns or violations to the Section Lead or Leadership.

Responsible for performing tasks to standards specified in Task and Frequency Charts and for notifying Section Lead of discrepancies.

Responsible for completing all assigned training and ACHEVE's annual and mandatory training.

Responsible for reporting the following to include but not limited to discrepancies, damage to equipment, damage to facilities, safety violations, and for adhering to reporting procedures.

Performs other duties assigned by Section Lead and Supervisor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A. Supervision

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

B. Confidentiality

This position is exposed to HIPAA and confidential client information.

C. Mental Application and Responsibility

Must have the ability to identify essential job tasks.

D. Internal and Public Contacts

This position involves extensive interaction with peers, subordinates and supervisors, as well as high level interactions with community leaders, providers, the Arizona Department of Economic Security, federal government personnel and others.

F. Physical Demands

This position may require frequent bending, lifting, twisting, reaching over head and or standing for long periods of time. Staff must be able to walk up and down stairs and lift up to 30 pounds.

G. Work Environment

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and graveyard shifts 8:00pm - 04:30am. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Strong analytical mind with a strategic ability.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

B. Experience

Ground maintenance experience preferred

C. Other

Must be over 21 years of age.

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Must be able to obtain valid certifications for Agency compliance within 90-days of employment.

Pass background check inclusive of Excluded Provider List System (EPLS) and the Health and Human Services (HHS) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

OSHA

Everyone has the right to a safe workplace.
