What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and good phone skills.
• Technical expertise and knowledge of company products.
• Demonstrates understanding and application of effective selling strategies and techniques.
• Superior organizational skills.
• Demonstrates success meeting sales goals and growing sales.
• Knowledge of logistics, including carriers, shipping policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and distribution software.
• Promotes teamwork and cooperative effort.
• Practices positive customer relations and constructive problem-solving.
• Continuously upgrades skills and knowledge to improve personal effectiveness and provide training and guidance to less experienced/skilled personnel.
• Candidate can be located in Rapid City, SD; Sioux Falls, SD; Sioux City, IA; or Sioux Center, IA.

Responsibilities:

As a Commercial Estimator at Plumbing & Heating Wholesale, Inc., you will be responsible for:

• Obtaining and selecting construction open bid reports for estimation purposes.
• Obtaining current costs of products.
• Maintaining an orderly quotation file and record of jobs estimated.
• Receiving calls and offering service or phone estimates to customers.
• Actively assisting customers by recommending new products or suggesting alternatives.
• Regularly attending sales meetings.
• Maintaining technical and computer capability to effectively use estimation and submittal builder software, distribution and office software, and other information resources.
• Delivering timely, well-prepared, and professional estimates and submittals.
• Coordinating the ordering, receiving, and delivery of products in a timely manner.
• Generating new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
• Determining customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions.
• Recommending alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications.
• Presenting price, credit, and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ profitability profile.
