Job description

Requirements:
  • Proficient in computer technology including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in transportation logistics and/or fuel delivery experience
  • Valid CDL B Driver’s license w/ Hazmat & Tanker endorsements
  • Access to a motor vehicle and capacity to travel
  • Flexible work hours to meet operational schedule
  • Annual salary-based role
Responsibilities:
  • 24/7 operational support for driver & delivery concerns; 24-Hr Emergency Response
  • Be the liaison/point of contact for communications between field and office staff
  • Promptly address and resolve driver-related concerns, encompassing both customer and personnel issues; escalating concerns to Operations Manager
  • Track driver hours and diligently review/approve timecards in compliance with company & FMCSA policies and relevant regulations.
  • Manage to and oversee PTO/Urgent route coverage needs; approve/decline requests
  • Manage route plan to ensure maximized efficiency within each route/market
  • Manage to depot, truck, and driver supply distribution & inventory tracking
  • Readily jump in the truck to assist with deliveries, tank sets & pick-ups, or any operational needs as necessary, both planned or urgent
  • Coordinate and promptly respond to incidents, emergencies, spills, and accidents, ensuring swift action, proper reporting, and adherence to established protocols and safety procedures
  • Evaluate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (Fill %, GP/Labor Hour, GP/Account, etc.) to assess operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Assist with new driver interviews and hiring process
  • Participate in driver meetings to foster effective communication and collaboration between drivers, share relevant business information, and address issues at hand.
  • Coordinate driver training programs, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards, tracking training progress, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance driver skills, safety, and operational performance.
  • Contribute to driver performance reviews, communicate accountability and expectations, provide feedback, coach, and support drivers to optimize productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the internal team in resource planning discussions, specifically truck allocation, driver rostering, materials handling, product distribution, fleet replacement schedule, and geographical considerations to ensure efficient resource utilization and optimal operational outcomes.
  • Coordinate truck movements with Field Supervisor(s); move trucks as needed
  • Assist with new customer evaluation and onboarding
  • Respond to elevated concerns from dispatch for: truck technology (phone or technical), trucks needing changed/replaced, leveraging other drivers, or customer delivery impacts
  • Coordinate with shop & drivers on truck repair/maintenance schedule to ensure trucks are serviced in a timely manner & communicate with dispatch
  • Provide customers (internal and external), and vendors with consistent, quality service in accordance with company procedure
  • Make recommendations which will help grow our commercial business line
  • Complete and review incident reports and investigations with Operations Manager
  • Ensure our Mission, Vision, and Pillars (Quality, Integrity, and Response) are upheld in all decision-making
  • Complete all other projects and objectives on time assigned by the Operations Manager of Commercial Fuels
