Commercial Construction Superintendent

Job description

Project Superintendent works collaboratively with the Project Manger to ensure the work progresses according to the schedule, budget is maintained and meets the company's quality standards and meets the client's satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

~ Assist in the pre-construction process with the development/implementation of the project start-up and assist in project buy-out & scheduling.

~ Have a complete understanding of drawings, specs., schedules and vendors responsibilities and scope of work.

~ Attend meetings with PM, client, client representatives, inspectors, governmental oversight officials, subcontractor's suppliers and field staff.

~ Provide accurate and timely required paperwork, including daily reports, time sheets, field documentation as dictated by the specific project contract.

~ Implement on-site QA/QC program, jobsite safety/risk mitigation and Job Hazard Analysis. Enforce the site-specific safety plan.

~ Maintain a clean and safe project site.

~ Create and reinforce a culture of continuous production improvement in the field by identifying and implementing changes that improve productivity, quality and safety practices.

~ Run weekly project tool box talks.

~ Maintain an accurate on-site set of drawings.

~ Demonstrate and maintain an effective and open dialogue with the project team regarding changes in work, job conditions, subcontractor relations and any deviation in the direction, status or schedule of the project.

~ Continuously promote positive subcontractor relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors and instilling this philosophy in the project team.

~ Perform other duties and assignments as required as they arise.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

~ A minimum of 3 years as a Commercial Construction Superintendent for a general contractor in both private and government work.

~ A minimum of 10 years in the construction industry.

~ Experienced in ground up construction as well as working in occupied spaces.

~ Competent at negotiations, problem solving and conflict resolution.

~ Ability to read, analyze and interpret contract drawings and specifications.

~ Familiarity with construction project software, working with mobile electronic devices from construction sites.

~ Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.

~ OSHA 30 Certified.

~ US Citizenship

~ Can get security clearance.

~ Must be able to pass a drug test, motor vehicle background as well as a government background check.

~ CPR/First Aid Certificate (current)
