The Commercial Card Account Manager works to increase revenue through strategic partnering to grow revenue, retain, and cross sell payments solutions, including technologies such as, Electronic Payables, expense management solution in an assigned Commercial Card portfolio which includes the high value card clients of HTLF and its division banks. This role understands card offerings and supports internal and external customers while growing HTLF's Commercial card program.
Primary Responsibilities
Manages an assigned portfolio of high value Commercial Card clients with a primary focus on expanding and retaining client relationships. Grows customer profitability by identifying opportunities to expand customer spend through direct card issuance, payables, or other tools, with strong emphasis on expanding program usage and well as offer additional services, retention and client satisfaction. Up-sells other Commercial Card products/solutions, including Visa Expense Management, Fleet Card, EAP and Integrated Payables.
Consults with clients to develop and identify best practices within the industry and peers to continually improve customer's programs and efficiency.
Designs and executes business plans and ensures program purchase volume goals are met for tier 1 and 2 clients.
Works with C-level executives at companies to ensure high engagement and understanding of the total value of their Commercial Card program.
Performs and explains vendor match analysis, and encourage clients to act upon the results.
Stays abreast of HTLFs card offerings, industry developments, competitor offerings, client needs, etc. to identify and recommend changes to product features/functionality, pricing, positioning, etc.
Serves as the escalation point for program owners and ensures issues are resolved by working with Product owners, the Support Team and the Technology Team.
Facilitates the implementation of additional technology or products and ensures clients utilize these solutions to their fullest potential.
Monitors customer's monthly activity and patterns and review changes with customers to identify any challenges, concerns, or opportunities.
Prepares annual customer program review and work in conjunction with RM, SC's, and TMO's to insure all customer issues are addressed. Complete annual review onsite with customer, RM and TMC as required.
Evaluates and identifiess new solutions, offerings, and program enhancements that can benefit Commercial Card programs and communicate these to program administrators and owners.
Maintains working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other regulations that apply to the role.
Manages the completion of RFP responses for clients in their assigned portfolio.
Completes annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it relates to the job function.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years combined experience of Commercial Card management and account management/relationship management with the ability to develop strong partnerships required
  • Proven experience of sales results and enhancing the client experience
  • Strong understanding of the Commercial Card industry, Accounts Payable and Purchasing processes
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel to conduct in-person client meetings
  • Must comply with all Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements; Privacy of Customer Information Policy and consumer protection laws; regulations and Bank policies as related to assigned job duties
  • Acts as an exceptional teammate while driving a culture of improvement
