Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
The selected candidate will work cross functionally with Engineering, and the Customer to ensure program and organizational goals are met. Columbia Engineering Support Site Logistician develop s and administer s integrated logistics strategies. As part of this role, these employees provide logistical support including spare or replacement parts, and supplies to field organizations and to General Dynamics Mission Systems customers. They also work to continuously improve the standard logistics processes used within the organization. This role is responsible for the orderly management of inventory, this includes coordinating and documenting the receipts and issues of all material coming into or leaving. The Logistics Representative will be responsible for supporting audits of the storeroom by the internal Quality organization and by external customer teams.
Additionally, this role will coordinate with local GDEB Logisticians in support of material movement. Candidates should demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of logistics, as well as a desire and ability to improve the efficiency of General Dynamics Mission Systems logistical operations.

  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
  • Support the smooth operation of material flow with GDEB Storeroom
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills for determining and providing logistics support
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, schedules and customers
  • Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic working environment
  • Travel as needed
  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet changing business needs
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices
  • Coordinate the completion or fulfillment of logistics data request or data inputs
  • Action and close problem reports and material requests
  • Work closely with the Program Team and field sites for material related issues and concerns
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet changing business needs
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMSs services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices
  • Coordinate with GDMS Pittsfield in support of deliveries to Shipyard and returns of equipment.
  • Receive calibrated equipment and return it to its service or stowage location
  • The individual will be willing and able to assist other site personnel as requested or required
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of Inventory Management
  • Understanding of Configuration Status Accounting
  • Familiar with government audit processes
  • Familiarity with ERP system and shipping processes in order to stay on top of program needs and requirements
  • Ability to self-prioritize and recognize the programs needs
  • The preferred candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a can and will do attitude and will be capable of multi-tasking.
  • Weekly reporting of logistics activity (shipments, receipts, requisitions, material / storeroom receipts)
  • The successful candidate will be detail oriented and will have excellent written communication skills
  • Command of the Microsoft Office Suite especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of CLASP
  • Working knowledge of DD1149, DD1348, Engineering Instructions, and UAS

Salary Note
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
Combined Salary Range
USD $90,737.80 - USD $100,662.20 /Yr.
