POSITION SUMMARY: As a Color Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in our client's journey to creating their ideal home environment. Specializing in both interior and exterior design, you will provide expert guidance on paint color choices, harmonizing aesthetics with functionality. This role involves consulting with clients during pre-booked appointments, both in their homes and through virtual meetings, to deliver bespoke color solutions that reflect their vision and lifestyle.

NOTE: This is a part time, hybrid position in Wichita, KS 67218. Daily travel within the area to and from job sites (< 30 miles) will be required. Color consultants are required to use their personal vehicle.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…

• Conduct in-home and virtual color consultations to understand client needs, preferences, and space functionalities.
• Recommend paint colors and finishes based on the latest trends, lighting conditions, and architectural styles.
• Develop personalized color schemes and design proposals that align with client goals and budget.
• Utilize color matching techniques to ensure consistency and harmony across different rooms and exteriors.
• Prepare and present digital mock-ups or color boards to visually demonstrate design concepts and color schemes to clients.
• Conduct site visits to assess lighting conditions, architectural features, and the surrounding environment to inform color and design recommendations.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, color theory, and sustainable practices.
• Collaborate with the sales and project teams to ensure seamless design execution.
• Guide clients through completion of necessary project paperwork and documents, maintaining organized client records.
• Develop and maintain a color consultation portfolio to showcase before-and-after transformations and testimonials for future clients.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to contribute to promotional activities, content creation, and color workshops aimed at educating and attracting potential clients.

• Do not have previous experience as a Color Consultant.
• Do not have thorough knowledge of the painting industry, paint types, sheens, and trends
• Do not have a US Driver’s License
• Do not have reliable self transportation
• Lack self discipline or time management skills
• Lack communication skills via any medium
• Do not identify as a people person who likes to help others
• Struggle with technology
• Aren’t good with colors and design
• Have less than 2 years of experience in customer service

REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of the painting industry and material specifications.
• Previous experience as a Color Consultant.
• Strong understanding of color theory and design principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of the latest interior design and home trends.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
• Detail-oriented with an eye for aesthetics and a passion for creating beautiful spaces.
• Flexibility to travel to client sites and adapt to varying schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Effective time management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Continual willingness to learn and stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
• Sensitivity to clients' budget and financial considerations, offering cost-effective yet impactful design solutions.
• Proficiency in modern technology, a plus if proficient in digital design software.
• Friendly, personable, professional, and patient personality.
• Alignment with our core values and a passion for client success.
• A valid US driver’s license with a clean record and reliable self transportation.
• Knowledge of the painting industry and material specifications is a plus.

PAY/SALARY

$50.00 - $75.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and opportunity for bonuses.
