Job Description:
The College Enrollment Navigator serves as a resource and guide to prospective students, applicants, and enrolled students. Through a variety of means (e.g. recruitment fairs and social media), the Navigator conducts initial outreach and inquiry response to a wide range of prospective students, such as pre-dual enrollment students and career switchers. The Navigator's duties will span the range from initial outreach, to career and educational guided pathways, to enrollment, to retention and completion. This is accomplished by outreach and recruitment, monitoring prospective student and applicant progress throughout the enrollment process, responding to all questions/inquiries, providing information about Eastern Shore Community College career and educational pathways and the enrollment process. The Navigator will enhance enrollment in academic and workforce programs by cultivating relationships with prospective students and decreasing the length of time spent from being interested in college to registering for college. The Navigator will assist those students who are ready to enroll with the goal of completing all aspects of the enrollment process, except financial aid, within 1-2 business days. The Navigator is not expected to be all-inclusive content matter expert; however, they will have expertise in connecting with experts to allow for seamless onboarding. The Navigator will receive training in the Culture of Care prior to meeting with students, a toolkit for on-the-job reference, and required ongoing professional development throughout the year.

- Knowledge of recruitment, retention, completion and employment and college transfer best practices.
- Knowledge of ESCC academic, adult education, and workforce programs, processes, policies, rules, and regulations.
- Knowledge of effective, equity-minded, evidence-based practices and a culture of care within student services.
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations at the college, state, federal, and accreditation-levels that impact postsecondary education.
- Knowledge of higher education principles of shared governance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and web browsers
- Proficiency with CRM or other client management systems
- Ability to collaborate across college departments to advance recruitment, enrollment, retention, completion, and job placement or college transfer.
- Skilled in interpersonal communication and conflict resolution.
- Skilled in managing projects and processes from idea through execution and evaluation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a congenial and professional manner with students, faculty, staff, administrators and community members.
- Synthesize and present data to varied audiences.
- Analyze and make sound, informed, and well-considered recommendations on complex issues.
- Work effectively with a diverse student body and workforce, demonstrating exceptional customer service.
- Maintain confidentiality on individual student and personnel matters.
- Maintain and meet deadlines and deliver high quality work product when managing multiple and competing priorities.
