Description
Manages loan collection activities, departmental support personnel, and loan rating as they are sent to credit bureaus and other financial institutions.
Requirements
- Reviews payment lists, maintains departmental files, and prepares paperwork on debits, credits, and other payments.
- Contacts credit bureaus for customer reports, checks customer references, updates addresses, and gathers additional information as necessary.
- Ensures payments are properly credited and applied to customer accounts and in the Bank's records or returns payments if foreclosure has been initiated or payments are unacceptable.
- Prepares reports on accounts and collection activities.
- Participates in the Bank's development of collection policies and procedures for foreclosure, credit for payment of delinquent accounts, and other default procedures.
- Review the delinquent loan status and overdraft accounts for the Bank.
- Directs the collection process of overdrawn deposit accounts within a specified timeframe ensuring that all proper documentation is available to process small claims actions or other legal actions as required.
- Approves subordinate personnel collection activities regarding workouts of loan payments on delinquent accounts.
- Works directly with the Bank's legal counsel.
- Manages reports of current and recently closed loans to organizations requesting information, ensuring the information is accurate and in compliance with fair credit reporting regulations.
- Directs foreclosure of delinquent accounts determined to be unresolvable ensuring that all proper documentation is accounted for and all data is properly entered.
- Works with other departments within the Bank regarding litigation and foreclosure activities.
- Oversees foreclosed properties for proper management and regular inspections, as well as tax and insurance payments.
