Cold Coffee Brewer

The cold brew employee is responsible for every step in the process of making cold brew: ordering coffee, brewing, kegging, cleaning, and building out orders for cafes. Cold Brew is ordered by each café, and it is the responsibility of the brewer to fulfill each café order for the delivery driver. The cold brewing process has a 16-17 hour turnaround from when the coffee is put into the brew vessel to when the coffee is kegged.

Cleanliness and food safety are of the upmost priority in this process. This position requires a Serve Safe Certification. The cold brew employee is responsible for ensuring that every piece of equipment is clean before and after each step in the process and making sure that equipment is sanitized throughout each step. Must be detail oriented and methodical in every batch of cold brew made.

Heavy lifting is a constant in the cold brewing process. While we do use winches and a siphon to help alleviate some of the heavy lifting, full kegs weigh 50-60lbs. Proper lifting ergonomics and communication are a must. Climbing a step ladder to perform duties may be necessary.

The brewer will need to have a flexible schedule to meet the 16-17 hour turnaround time, The brewer need to be focused and self-motivated. Since the schedule is flexible, brewer must communicate clearly and effectively through a batch process.

Attention to detail is key. The brewer must pay attention to the grind size of the coffee, as this and the duration of time the coffee spends in the brew vessel can greatly affect the outcome of the cold brew. Too fine of a grind can create bitter product. Too short of a brew time will create a weak flavor and too much time will develop bitter flavors. Brewer must demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for coffee.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
