This person will load chemicals into or from tanks, trailers, rail cars or other various containers. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the barge swap out with the fleet which is handling the barge to place it at the dock.
- Inspect all ropes, bits, and cables which will be sued to tie off the barge.
- Communicate with the deck hand or Captain of the vessel to let them know where to place the empty barge.
- Communicate with the room operator to payout the winch until enough slack has been deemed appropriate to hook up the winch cable to the empty barge
- Inspect the barge for any damage, leaks or contaminants
- Escort third party surveyor onto the barge to survey the draft of the empty barge.
- Control conveyors to account for proper loading of barge
- Assist control room operator with positioning of barge to prevent sinking
- Monitor condition of barge while loading
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required for this Position:
Education – no minimum education requirements.
Experience – 3-5 years experience in an Industrial setting preferred.
