Job Description:
Manages the daily operations and workflow of the coding function a under the direction of the manager. Coordinates, plans and supervises daily activities of the staff which includes on-site Coders, remote based (U.S. located) Coders, and vendors performing coding functions. Responsible for new hire and on-going staff training to ensure accurate and timely coding and appropriate reimbursement. Contributes to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health and Revenue Service metrics while following applicable federal, state laws and regulatory and accrediting agencies.Work Experience:2 years of experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding.1 year management experience in coding preferred.

1 year management experience in coding preferred.
Graduate of an AHIMA accredited educational program for Health Information Management (RHIA or RHIT eligible) and successful completion of the RHIA or RHIT exam
If no degree:
Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
3 years of experience with ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT coding.
Ability to obtain associate degree in HIM within 3 years of start date and successful completion of RHIT exam
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Certification/Licensure Required:
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).

The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, FTE, as well as internal equity among our team.
