Code Enforcement Officers enforce Manatee County codes, ordinances and statutes to protect consumers, property values, environmentally-sensitive lands, infrastructure and property. Code Enforcement operates in 13 zones with an officer in each one.
Note: This position has been designated by the Manatee County Commission as serving at the will and pleasure of the County Administrator. Employees so designated may be terminated at any time with or without cause.
Code Enforcement Chief-This classification is a leadership and management position within the Code Enforcement section. The incumbent leads and manages all functions of the section and associated public education programs. Leadership and management associated responsibilities include providing effective leadership and supervision of first line supervisors, and the operational and administrative management and oversight of the section. In the performance of their duties and responsibilities, the incumbent must be able to demonstrate an expert level of independent judgement and decision making in accordance with state and countywide statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures while handling the needs of the County.

- High School diploma or equivalent certification of competency.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of field experience in regulatory enforcement. Experience in Florida code preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience supervising a team of four (4) or more.
- Valid driver's license; must obtain valid Florida Class "E" driver's license within 30 days of hire.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be accepted.
