Coating Foreman - ARB Industrial

As the Coating Foreman in our pipe and vessel fabrication shop, you will be responsible for managing and supervising all aspects of the coating process for our projects. You will lead a team of coating technicians and ensure that all coatings are ap-plied accurately, safely, and efficiently. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with internal teams and external contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of coating technicians, ensuring adherence to project plans, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate and schedule coating activities in collaboration with project managers, fabrication supervisors, and other stakeholders.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and coating procedures to determine coating requirements, surface preparation methods, and coating application techniques.
• Oversee the preparation and inspection of surfaces to ensure they are clean, dry, and properly prepared for coating application.
• Monitor and control environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation, to ensure optimal coating application and curing.
• Select and procure appropriate coating materials, tools, and equipment for each project.
• Train and mentor coating technicians, promoting skill development and adherence to industry best practices.
• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to verify compliance with coating standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with third-party coating suppliers, contractors, and inspectors as necessary.
• Track and report on coating activities, including material consumption, labor hours, and project progress.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records related to coating operations, including inspection reports, material data sheets, and safety records.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in coatings or surface preparation is preferred.
• Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in industrial coatings, with a strong under-standing of coating materials, surface preparation methods, and application techniques.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or foreman role, with demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of coating standards and specifications, such as NACE, SSPC, or other relevant industry codes.
• Familiarity with various industrial coating systems, including epoxy, polyurethane, and zinc coatings.
• Proficiency in surface preparation methods, including abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, and solvent cleaning.
• Strong understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations related to coating operations.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collabo-rate with diverse teams and communicate expectations clearly.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office applications and coating-specific software.

Salary Range: $46.69-$53.70 (hourly)
