Coater Technician

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads and operates vacuum coating chamber to deposit thin-film coatings on optical substrates.
• Performs spectral scans to verify coating process control.
• Performs chamber and tooling cleaning.
• Daily monitoring of chamber process and coating measurements.
• First-level troubleshooting of coating chamber.
• Maintains process data records.
• Works with other production technicians and engineers as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Minimum 5 years working as a E-beam optical coating technician.
• High School diploma with technical training course work.
• Experience with vacuum and cleanroom technologies.
• Proficient with He leak detection/RGA/multimeters.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
• Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp A&D.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Able to work in a collaborative manner with staff having a wide range of skills and work experience. 
• Proficient with general hand tools. 
• Proactive approach to daily work and problem resolution

Working Conditions

• Cleanroom 

Physical Requirements

• Lift 40lbs and work in confined areas.
