Alstom is seeking an Co-Op Engineering Specialist to work on Rail Signaling projects.  The individual should be familiar in Engineering activities, key performance index (KPI), development of dashboards, maintenance, resource loading, and performance measurement. The Co-op Engineering Specialist leads the engineering activities and will work with project engineering department head to control and monitor Quality, Cost, Deliver and Performance (QCDP).
 
Purpose of the job:
 
Responsible for the engineering content of project schedules by collaborating with engineering teams to generate and maintain detailed engineering tasks, duration, and resource requirements. He or She work with engineering team to build the dashboard of some of the key performance index (KPI), monitor and maintain the same. On tenders, responsible to prepare the tender dashboard to provide so BTM can prioritize their work based on the criticality of the tender. On projects, responsible to generate the engineering dashboard that is consistent with the overall project's performance, schedule, and milestones. Responsible to ensure that schedules allow for accurate Engineering Delivery Performance metrics.
 
Key accountabilities:
•    Engineering schedule construction and continuous update in collaboration with engineering teams and managers
•    Support engineering team in achieving their commitment to the engineering schedule
•    Support Project Planning Manager (PrPM) in identifying critical path & to communicate assumptions, risks, and mitigation plans
•    Identify blocking points regarding commitments while proposing solutions and following up on the implementation. Escalate as necessary
•    To facilitate the communication between the engineering team and the project core team
•    To communicate engineering team project priorities and Project schedule modifications
•    To promote and drive an On Time culture within Engineering Teams
•    To be able to generate, analyze and report Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
•    To ensure stringent follow up, monitoring and root cause analysis on Engineering Delivery Performance (EDP) indicator
•    To assist in reviewing Engineering workload data to identify gaps and update as necessary
•    To support Bid Technical Manager (BTM) to develop engineering schedule on tenders
 
Performance measurements:
 
To provide all Engineering schedule deliverables on time according to tender strategy and project time management plans with good quality. To provide the required visibility on engineering schedules, highlighting critical issues, and proposing actions plan. Focus on Engineering Deliverable Performance.

Educational Requirements

 

  • Junior / Senior majoring in Engineering or Management discipline

 

Technical Knowledge / Preffered Experience

  • Engineering lifecycle knowledge including /tools & process
  • Project Management knowledge (risk management, quality process...)

 
Technical Skills

  • Good knowledge of Excel, Power Bi and ability to learn Qliksense
