Form of workPeraton is seeking a CNO Firmware Developer with hard drive firmware development experience to support a critical mission of consequence within our Cyber Mission Business Unit in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this position you will perform a combination of software design, reverse engineering, and vulnerability research.
Rsponsibilities may include:
- Develop software capabilities taking into account the underlying hardware on which they run
- Optimize algorithms and software implementations in order to meet requirements such as binary size, utilization, and performance
- Perform Agile development, accurately estimating the time to complete tasks
- Respond to time-sensitive operational requirements
- Understand how malware is detected by personal security products and/or network monitoring and methods to evade such detection
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing of software products (e.g. unit tests, functional tests, and integration tests)
- Develop software implants that have network communications and the ability to persist across reboots
- Document software designs, explain performance tradeoffs made, and decompose high-level designs into specific software development tasks
- Develop, find flaws in, and modify complex algorithms that span multiple layers of abstraction
- Recommend new technologies and processes to achieve assigned goals
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, System Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or related discipline
- Five (5) years of software engineering / reverse engineering / vulnerability research experience
- Two (2) years’ experience in Computer Network Operations to include Computer Network Exploitation (CNE), Computer Network Attack (CNA or computer security experience on Windows, UNIX, or Mobile platforms
- Active TS SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
Desired Qualifications:
- Firmware - Hard Drive focused – development experience
- Reverse Engineering experience
- ARM Assembly development experience
- C programming experience
- BIOS or UEFI experience
