CNC Wire EDM Machinist needed asap! Stow, OH - Pay determined by experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain wire EDM machines, finish machines, hand tools, and fixtures operate more than one machine at a time.
- Use computer software or CAM Software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
- Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, specifications, referencing planes. Locations of surfaces and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
- Programs Wire EDM by utilizing CAD geometry provided or drawing file provided, utilizing Master Cam, setting parts according to datums in files, on drawings, or programs
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample parts, adhering to standards.
- Use proper material handling techniques to ensure quality of product and condition of equipment.
- Work from part drawings and use required precision measuring instruments to check machine positioning and inspect work
- Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
- Adjust machine and fixture stops to maintain finish and tolerance requirements.
- Make machine adjustments, tool changes, etc. as required
- Use basic inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height stands, comparators, etc
- Burr removal on all parts where required
- Read and interpret blue prints, inspection check-sheets and instructions
- Identifies all work in process pieces and finished goods pieces.
Ability/Skills
o Operate tow motor and crane without assistance.
o Mechanical aptitude
o Interested in personal development in the machining trade
o Can Read and interpreting blueprints and work operations sheets
o Can read and use calipers, micrometers, height gauge, and depth micrometers.
o Can apply the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations using calculators, computers, and reference materials.
o Understanding of mathematical concepts such as percentage and basic statistical calculations (CPK, fundamentals of plane, and solid geometry and trigonometry, etc.)
o Understanding of Wire EDM machines and controls
o Strong knowledge of G & M machining codes
o Strong knowledge of technical GD&T drawing reading skills.
o Must be able to understand quality standards and gauging.
o Possess strong computer and software skills
Accountability
- Clock on/off jobs for job timekeeping records.
- Meeting the quality standards of the company while rework is held to a minimum.
- Is responsible for making various parts to customer specifications by programming and operating the wire EDM machines.
- Maintain and ensure accurate counts on completed parts and scrapped parts; complete production paperwork.
- Effectively communicate continuity among work shifts by documenting actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
- May be required to perform inspections and analyses of processes to determine the appropriate actions needed to maintain quality levels on parts and processes.
- Complete any and all paperwork as required.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; troubleshooting malfunctions and/or calling for maintenance.
- Maintain maintenance records.
- Reports issues in a timely manner to the Plant Manager-Mold and Machine Division.

-Test indicator .001 grad with .025 or .045 travel -6” steel scale, and if 12” steel scale
-Allen wrenches English and metric -Dead Blow Hammer
-Deburring tool -0-6” minimum Calipers
-0-1 Micrometer -Depth Micrometer 0-4” or 0-6” (prefer)
-Telescoping hole gage set (prefer)
