Cnc Programmer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning and programming the Alltra, Twister, Opti-shear, West & East Wiedemann, Flange Lines, Purlin Line / Eclipse, Peddinghaus Raptor 21, Franklin Angle, Alltra II, Robots, Trumpf CO2 Sheet Laser, CNC Brake Press, 2 Fiber Sheet Laser & protube.
• Interpreting blue prints and other drawings from all business units, internal and external customers
• Ability to work with business unit engineering departments as needed to fix challenges discovered prior to production.
• Drawing parts to scale in AutoCad, Artube 3 (SoildWorks would be beneficial but not necessary)
• Interpreting and editing DNC code - M and G codes
• Work closely with machine operators troubleshooting programs and machine/computer problems
• Utilize material by using best nesting practices, drop off and slow moving material
• Re-route parts for optimal manufacturing based on machine capabilities, material utilization and job-step reduction
• Coordinate work with other departments (BBS, BC, IDP engineering, scheduling, manufacturing departments plus Tool & Die, AIM, maintenance, etc)
• Work closely with engineering departments on prototypes, time studies, machine capabilities, etc.
• Work closely with multiple areas of manufacturing to improve processes
• Coordinate customer demands from all business units simultaneously
• Expedite parts as required by all business units
• Ensure production is capable of running all shifts required to meet customer demand
• Be on call 24/7 to ensure minimal interruptions to the manufacturing process

• Practice safe working habits and follow safety policy, procedures and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality and ISO-9001:2008.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good knowledge of AutoCad Required. CNC experience preferred
• Strong PC skills (including but not limited to ECCCO, Windows, DOS, and Microsoft products)
• General knowledge of shop capabilities and Information Technology (trouble shooting PC and software challenges)
• Self motivated, self starter with the ability to follow through in an rapidly changing environment
• Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision and direction
• Accuracy (+/-0.0001) and attention to detail
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and interaction skills
• Ability to make fast decisions
• Ability to plan and be flexible
